Greenbelt Protocol
Did you all know that the greenbelts are considered part of
the Bellevue Parks System? The open space areas are intended
to provide recreation, neighborhood buffers, erosion and
pollution control and critical wildlife habitat.
Unfortunately, we have noticed that yard waste has been dumped
onto park property and trees and shrubs have been trimmed or
cut down. All such activity is against City Code. In the
future, please be sure that your yard wastes are disposed of
through the City provided curb-side waste collection program
(and if you have dumped in the greenbelt, it would be nice if
you recover the material and dispose of it properly!). And by
all means, refrain from cutting trees in the greenbelt. If it
seems that a tree may pose a physical hazard to your property,
please call Stacy Good at (425)455-6855. She will arrange for
an immediate survey and appropriate action. |
